Designers are working the French twist for fall and it’s as chic as ever. Redken Global Creative Director Guido created an understated, elegant French twist to enhance the lavish sophistication on the runway at Hermes’ fall/winter 2015 runway show in Paris.  At Oscar de la Renta’s fall/winter 2015 show, Guido utilized the French twist again but used a modern touch by raking the hair back with his fingers.

These elegant (and easy to achieve) updos are among the season’s most-talked-about beauty trends.

How to get the look:

1. Apply a quarter-size amount of gel of mousse to damp hair and blow dry.

2. Gather the hair and rake with fingers to create comb marks, and then pull up into a French twist. Be sure the base of the twist is tight and flat against the head.

3. Secure the French twist by pinning with open fasteners.

4. Finish with a thorough spray of super strength hairspray for hold.
