Whether your hairline has receded, is naturally high or wide, or if you just have a larger forehead, there are various ways of camouflaging and working with your forehead to bring more balance to your facial features.

Side PartHair Tips for Larger Foreheads

A center part can really accentuate a large forehead, because it draws the eye straight to the upper half of your face. A side part can break up the visual and provide asymmetry, making your forehead appear less prominent.

Bangs

Hair can be the perfect camouflage for providing balance to your facial features. If your hair is thick, you can try long or side-swept bang.  Have thinner hair or not enough texture for bangs?  Try clip-in bangs! Bang hair extensions are available to clip in to your hair or may be attached to headbands or elastic bands to easily blend with your existing hair. Color matching is key to pulling off this hair accessory.

Contouring

Don’t like bangs or don’t have the right hair texture to pull them off? You can make a large forehead appear smaller by contouring with makeup.  Use a bronzer, contour powder or liquid foundation a shade darker than your foundation tone and sweep the color around the hairline and at the temples.  This can make your forehead appear smaller and in better proportion with the rest of your face.

Brows

Sometimes a forehead appears larger because your brow line is low.  If this is the case, you might be able to use eyebrow powder and light penciling to add volume to the top of your brows.  Fuller brows are the current trend, so adding some height to your brows can be a great way to add visual balance.

Small changes can really make a difference in minimizing a feature that is not your favorite. Accentuating the positives and minimizing the negatives can go a long way to improving your self-image, so try making small efforts and see how it can make a difference in how you feel!
